North Carolina relief truck leaving today

A grassroots effort to help citizens of North Carolina following the floods and wind damage caused by Hurricane Helene in late September has garnered a lot of response from the Boothbay region and volunteers will be loading the truck with home and other supplies to bring to North Carolina today, Oct. 17.
The truck from RC Moore Trucking of Scarborough is being loaded today at Pinkham's Gourmet Market in Boothbay Harbor. A total of 18 pallets of supplies, which included paper towels and toiletries, electric and manual tools and generators, food and water, were loaded into the truck.
“A lot of people have worked really hard volunteering, donating and working with relief groups in Carolina to get this where it is needed most,” said Jen Mitchell, one of the organizers of the effort. “Tancy (Mitchell) has been the rock behind it, as always!
“Russ and Cathy Pinkham, Boothbay Craft Brewery, E.M. Wood Construction, Shore Hills Campground and Reny's Construction all had a deep hand in making this happen along with the too many volunteers to mention.”
