Dear Editor:

Our property taxes that fund local schools have gone up significantly in recent years.  Unless we get stronger leadership that can be more responsible with school spending, taxes will skyrocket even further.

That is one of the reasons why I’ve decided to run for school board.

We all want quality education for our students, but we also need to find that proper balance of cost-effectiveness to ensure that our local schools can be sustainable over the longer term.

It will be up to the voters whether they want more of the same or some positive change for the benefit of students and taxpayers alike.

Early voting and absentee ballots will soon be available at the town office, so please make sure your vote counts on or before May 2.
