56th annual Fall Foliage Festival returns for another successful year

It may have been a blustery day on Saturday, Oct. 12, but that didn’t stop attendants from enjoying the first day of Boothbay Railway Village Museum (BRMV)’s 56th annual Fall Foliage Festival. The event boasted an array of local nonprofits, vendors, food trucks and fall activities to enjoy. The vocals from a rotating cast of live musicians underscored the noise of the crowds.
In total, 85 vendors (15 more than last year) from across Maine and New England set up shop on the Village Green, selling everything from artwork to crystals to baked goods. Long lines formed around the food trucks. Children also got in on the fun with a host of offered activities, including face painting, a scavenger hunt and pumpkin decorating kits. In addition, the museum was open for regular visitors to tour the grounds or take a ride on the train.
Lori Reynolds, BRVM marketing and events coordinator, described the turnout as “excellent.” “The wind has been a little challenging, but the sunshine is perfect. It's a great fall day and everyone is having a great time,” she said.
